1. ⭕ Keep it Simple.
- This applies to both the layout and what it takes for all the pages to look equivalent.
- This design can be used as a template for all our silos’ pages as well. So we should be aware that adding things like custom graphic headers to all pages will either require that work to also be done for silos, or for the silo pages to feel different from the main page.
- Graphics are much harder to iterate and change on the fly without the original files. If there are places where we decide to use graphics then we should provide a link to the original file so they can be modified or copied.
- If we can add variety and interest with simpler elements like Emojis then we should start there.
- Graphic focus on information heavy items (charts, diagrams, etc.)
2. Navigation
- If we are going to have silo pages live here too then we need to differentiate between the general DAO information pages and the specific silo Pages. The top banner is a good way to do this while maintaining consistency across the site.
- If we can figure out a good way to make navigation work well to click through the site sequentially, that would be great. It’s one of the best part of gitbook, where you can move both sequentially and jump around. I have done some tests.
- Using images for this has a UX problem. They appear to be buttons (hand on mouse over, and look button-like) but notion doesn’t allow them to be buttons. For this reason I recommend we use page links and text to navigate.
