Introduction

Welcome to the third article in the Yam Re-Org series. In it, we leverage learnings from article #2 What Makes A Good DAO to help us define the goals for creating a successful new Yam DAO. Starting by defining success, then moving into broad goals and ending with an examination of the specific goals.

Defining Success

The success of Yam DAO should be determined by the token holders. Yet achieving that success is determined by contributors. Bringing them together into an optimal system is the core focus of the Yam Re-Org.

The Yam Re-Org does not in itself define success. Rather, its intention is to clearly place the control of Yam’s destiny in the hands of the token holders – not a core team or anyone else. In addition, it establishes a more effective model to design, build and deploy products, services, or what ever else token holders want created.

The Re-Org aims to optimize participation of talented and committed creators and builders and improve the efficiency and accountability of work done on behalf of the DAO while maintaining its permission-less, decentralized core. Ultimately, the new Yam DAO model should provide token holders the foundation to pursue whatever vision of success that they define.

Objectives that Define the Shape of the Yam Re-Org

You might be asking, what is the essence and thrust of the Re-Org. The following four objectives define what the Re-Org wishes to accomplish in broad terms. Consider these the foundational objectives upon which the all final Re-Org solutions are built.

Objective 1: Shift Control to Token Holders

The Yam Re-Org eliminates the ‘core team’ and shifts control over funding and major decision making to the exclusive domain of Yam token holders.

Objective 2: Empower Token Holders to Decide What to Fund
